This week, I want to show you a few old favorites and share a new free favorite app with you as well. All of these are based around tangrams. I love using tangrams in the classroom and as math has become more and more standards based, I have found ways to incorporate them in other areas of the curriculum as well. I love how some kids who struggle with other math concepts really excel with geometry tasks. Tangrams are a must have in every classroom!

The newest addition to my love of tangrams is a free app called TanZen Lite. I have used this myself and have used it with students in grades 2-6. It does have a few advertisements on it but I have not yet felt the need to upgrade to the paid version. Take a look!

Tangram Tales????? What a fantastic book!!! {added to cart} I've never seen it before!! That would have been PERFECT to go with our end-of-year story writing unit because what did we write?!?: Tangram Stories!!
